Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) contracts with the Central Ohio Poison Center (COPC) to triage incoming emergency calls for our agency during after-hours, weekends and holidays. When a call to FCPH is made during this time, it is automatically redirected to COPC. Based on the call subject, COPC follows the protocol to respond to the caller’s request. Protocols vary depending on the nature of the call subject. If the call in a non-emergency, the caller is directed to call FCPH or another agency during normal business hours. Others may require the on-call employee to be contacted immediately. COPC will gather all necessary details, call the on-call employee, and the employee will follow-up with the caller. Listed below is the current employee scheduled and protocol followed by COPC.
